10 Moments That Made Sasha Banks WWE's MVP
2. Banks' SmackDown Women’s Title Reign
Earlier, it was noted that none of Sasha's five reigns as Raw Women's Champ could be considered long enough. On average, each lasted around one month before unceremoniously ending, and it was rather unsatisfying for everyone to watch that belt yo-yo between Sasha and other wrestlers constantly.
Her SmackDown Women's Title stint was different.
It started at Hell In A Cell 2020 (with a meaty victory over old friend Bayley), and lasted a full 167 days. That gave Banks enough time to properly bed in as champ, assert her singles dominance and do what she hadn't been allowed to do with the Monday night gold beforehand.
Being honest, Carmella was never a strong enough challenger for Sasha afterwards, but at least WWE's writers were getting behind Banks and giving her pay-per-view wins. She even broke her streak of immediate title losses by beating Bayley again on the 6 November episode of SmackDown.
Then, the 'Boss' helped skyrocket a new star.
