Would CM Punk have stayed put in WWE had they actually given him the one thing he truly wanted?

Punk had been very vocal about his desire to go on last at WrestleMania, yet WWE frequently found an excuse to push him further down the card when it came to the Show of Shows.

However, one moment definitely should have forced Vince McMahon to reconsider his scheduled main event plans coming into WrestleMania 29 - the last 'Mania Punk was ever part of.

'The Voice of the Voiceless' had just passed John Cena's record of 380 days as WWE Champion, cementing himself as the longest reigning WWE Champion in modern times. So, surely there was a story to be told which involved Cena trying to end his fierce rival's reign of terror?

Unfortunately, WWE were hell bent on having Cena and The Rock go on last at 'Mania again, but this time for the WWE title. Meaning Punk would drop the belt to 'The Great One' and instead have to settle (if you can call it that) for a match against The Undertaker.

Yet, would it have been so hard to just shoehorn Punk into the match and have all three go on last, with Cena coming out as 'The Champ' in the end?

That could have been enough to make Punk think twice about leaving the world of wrestling behind...but alas, Cena Vs Rocky II was the beginning of the end of his WWE career.
