10 MORE Secret WWE Pasts Of AEW Wrestlers

6. Colt Cabana

Scotty Goldman is a barely a footnote in Colt Cabana's career, and looks all the weirder for how things went for him before and after such a short stint.

For years closely associated with CM Punk, it was somewhat strange when Cabana didn't immediately join him in the WWE system in 2005, and weirder still that a "Pipe Bomb" namecheck and various appearances in crowds, doing motion capture for WWE games and providing invaluable content for Punk's mammoth-selling 2012 DVD didn't result in Cabana taking a full-time gig with the company years later.

Alas, only a few televised bouts between 2008 and 2009, (and a short-lived WWE.com series if you can find it...) exist as proof of Goldman's existence. Fired on the same day his final match aired, Cabana went back to the independent scene and showed a pioneering spirit that exists in the DNA of AEW to this day. Between podcasts launching careers (and indeed, a separate industry) and the success of ProWrestlingTees, Cabana's legacy goes hand-in-hand with the birth of the new North American Number Two.
