10 MORE Shocking WWE Plans You Won’t Believe
6. Not Cool
Four years before WWE would catastrophically mishandle their first potentially progressive gay storyline, the company almost forged ahead with nuptials for an entirely different tandem.
Billy and Chuck's infamous SmackDown wedding was take two on a concept the organisation originally devised for antagonistic pillocks 'Too Sexy' Brian Christopher and 'Too Hot' Scott Taylor during their stint as lightweight heels 'Too Much'. The pair were ambiguously camp on wrestling's horrifically dated terms, abusing the trope for cheap heat during a time where the ultra-masculinity of Stone Cold Steve Austin was the only accepted form of heroism.
Though ordinarily parked on weekend shows rather than Raw, the two remained over within their sphere to justify head writer Vince Russo pitching the idea of a wedding between the two. The lack of follow-up may have been down to ambivalence as much as anything else, though rumours circulated that Christopher's father Jerry Lawler forcefully nixed any proposals.
