10 MORE TERRIBLE Decisions We Have Made As The Authority Of WWE

5. Buried The Revival

Differences between NXT and the main roster, part 824:

In NXT, at TakeOver: Dallas, Scott Dawson travelled from one side of the ring to the other by crawling underneath its entire breadth to outwit American Alpha in an audacious, massively creative heel cut-off spot.

On the main roster, a pranked Scott Dawson travelled from one side of the ring to the other by scooting on his behind, as if he was a dog with a worm-infested anus.

Yes, we have ruined The Revival, for some reason. The tag act excel at reconciling old school heat and drama with modern breakneck pacing and convoluted sequencing, but there's two of 'em, and that will not do. And so, with a somewhat unnecessary and definitively problematic sadism, we have insinuated that they are gay, pranked them with Ucey Hot, generally portrayed them as a joke act to the audience, and then awarded them with the RAW Tag Team Championships, making it abundantly clear that they mean absolutely jack sh*t.

Perhaps this was all a benevolent gesture. We're all social media savvy. We know the Revival are keen to leave and ply their trade elsewhere, and have taken the unusual measure of humiliating them out of the door.

Except we have also refused to grant their release.
