10 More Times Wrestlers Broke Kayfabe

6. Kiss Of A Deadman

At the time it absolutely appeared that The Undertaker retired at WrestleMania 33. He'd just lost to Roman Reigns in the main event with Jim Ross at ringside for one last 'Mania call before leaving his gear in the ring. All the pieces appeared to add-up.

Everyone in the house had a tear in their eye; his career was over, he was no longer The Deadman. To those inside the arena and fully in the belief we'd just seen the end of The Undertaker, he was just Mark Calaway now with his wrestling persona left in the ring in a neatly folded pile. Surely we could forgive him for breaking the kayfabe and mystique he'd miraculously kept up while playing The Deadman for 24 years (three-year break for the biker gimmick before you all take to the comments) as he kissed his wife, former WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool, on the lips as he made his way back up the ramp for one final time.

The Undertaker shouldn't have a wife! He's a dead man. I can't be the only one who thought this during his career surely?!

Now, 'Taker's situation appears to be a lot less cut and dry with the faint lingering smell of a return refusing to leave the air. If he does come back, this moment of kayfabe shattering compassion to his significant other will prove to be the biggest scratch in the armour of the best and most well-kept character of WWE's history!
