10 More Wrestlers You'll NEVER Believe Shared The Same Ring

7. Marty Jannetty & Seth Rollins

Marty Jannetty and Seth Rollins are two of the most electric in-ring workers of their generations.

While it's easy to point out the flaws of Jannetty's career and his life choices, there is not a person on this planet who can argue that the Rocker wasn't a genuine trailblazer who, at the peak of his powers, had you constantly on the edge of your seat.

By today's standards, of course, what Jannetty and Shawn Michaels were doing in the AWA and WWF as the (Midnight) Rockers may seem tame, but back then they delivered something fresh, explosive and utterly unique.

For Seth Rollins, so much of his babyface work is that Jannetty/Michaels style but a couple of a generations down the line. When called for, Rollins is masterful at serving up that high energy, high impact offense that made acts like The Rockers so special.

Despite the comparisons, it seems insane to think that Marty Jannetty and Seth Rollins ever wrestled each other - but they most definitely did.

With Rollins going by his Tyler Black moniker back then, this match took place just four months before he made his Ring of Honor debut. As put over on commentary, Marty is a childhood hero of his opponent's for this Fight Sports Midwest event, and the two mesh nicely before Jannetty picks up the somewhat surprising win thanks to a Superkick - and post-match we get to see some Rockers-esque tandem offense from the two.
