10 MORE Wrestling Matches That Became Inadvertently Infamous

9. Seth Rollins Vs Sting (WWE Night Of Champions 2015)

Unexpectedly finding form after making a committed effort to being more than just a flat-track bully alongside other WWE part-timers, Sting's unlikely WWE career was cut short in only his second pay-per-view clash for the company.

'The Icon' looked great in his WrestleMania loss to Triple H and even better in comeback segments and scraps against 'The Game's surrogate son and perpetual abuse victim Seth Rollins. Their match at September's Night Of Champions would serve to be the lone shot at one of Vince McMahon's top titles Sting ever received, but he was lucky to at least come away with a fully-functioning frame after a bucklebomb left him barely able to walk at the scary backend of the battle.

With legs literally buckling under the weight of trying to support himself, Sting immediately goes to ground as both men charge towards the finish, but the scary-looking spot would have greater-than-expected ramifications for the WCW legend. Selecting retirement in place of facing the surgery and rehabilitation required in order to make any kind of semi-permanent return, Sting hung up the scorpion tights and took a well-deserved spot in the following year's Hall Of Fame instead.
