9. A Double Double Turn

At June 2013's Payback pay-per-view, WWE managed to pull off that rarest of birds: the always tricky wrestling double turn. Alberto Del Rio's botched babyface run came to an appreciated end as the Mexican leathered de facto heel Dolph Ziggler in his recently concussed cranium, leveraging The Showoff's recent sympathy to successfully switch the pair's alignments.

Some of the more attentive long-time fans in the audience that night might have felt distinct pangs of déjà vu. The site of the company's latest role reversal, Rosemont's Allstate Arena, was the very same venue where Steve Austin and Bret Hart had memorably crossed calibrations sixteen years prior at WrestleMania 13.

WWE couldn't explicitly state the fact - in terms of on-screen fiction, it would have made no sense whatsoever that a building was suffused with double-turn magic - making the intentional coincidence a superb bit of sly trivia for veteran viewers.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
