The transformation of Walter is legitimately staggering. Plenty of people are used to seeing him as the terrifying and imposing owner of the most brutal chops in the wrestling world, but if you look back on his life, there was a time when he was far less scary.

During the early stages of his career, the terrifying Walter wrestled under the name Gha-Cha-Ping for Japanese promotion Zero1. For this character, he had bright blonde and eventually green hair, wrestled in a goofy green spandex suit, and even walked to the ring wearing a mask with a bucktooth. Overall, he looked more like a Yo Gabba Gabba character than a monstrous beast.

Of course, Walter would end up agreeing with Kermit the Frog, saying "it ain't easy being green", and eventually set his sights on a more serious character, which brings us to today. There's not even an ounce of silliness about him now, as his simple black trunks, stern facial expressions and increased size make him one of the promotion's scariest wrestlers.

It just goes to show that even the most frightening wrestler might have a goofy past you're none the wiser to.
