10 Most Anti-Climactic WWE Moments Of 2017
9. Triple H's Double Cross
In a way, the entirety of the men's Raw versus SmackDown Survivor Series match should go down as an anti-climax. Rarely has WWE ever managed to get a 10-man line-up as star-studded as this in the ring at the same time, and yet the resulting bout was largely underwhelming.
In particular, though, it was the finish that left a feeling of, "is that it?" When a competitor is left in a three-on-one scenario - as Shane McMahon was after his four (younger, fitter and generally better) teammates were eliminated - you expect a big finale.
Should Shane have eliminated Triple H, Kurt Angle and Bruan Strowman in a late flurry to claim victory for his brand? Probably not, but what we got instead was probably no better, with The Game feigning a double-cross by Pedigreeing Angle, only to then repeat the trick on the unsuspecting SmackDown commissioner.
WWE itself seems to have recognised that there was a good chance this finish would come off as an anti-climax - hence Strowman ended up giving his teammate a well-deserved ass-kicking after the final bell so we'd go home happy.
