9. Finn Bálor

Or, Punk may want to go up against a guy who joined WWE the same year he left. Finn Bálor inked a deal with the promotion approx five months after Punk walked out following the 2014 Royal Rumble, and he went on to become an NXT sensation, the first Universal Champion and a cherished workhorse babyface.

Now, he's a workhorse heel, albeit one fans will struggle to dislike.

Punk could change that if he strolled in, admonished Bálor for treating things with the same rebellious sneer he did, tried to guide Finn's hand and got smashed for his troubles. Bálor's attitude would be one of incredulousness over Punk's borderline sanctimonious preaching (a throwback to a fave gimmick of old).

In-ring, they'd tear the house down. Bálor is another seeking a catalyst that'll re-spark his WWE career. NXT has helped, but Punk could be a real difference maker. Finn hasn't had truly great matches for years. This would be his chance to have another.
