10 Most Anticipated CM Punk Matches We Want To See

Back in the bittersweet days of 2012 (when John f'n Laurinaitis was headlining shows), Punk and Daniel Bryan wrestled a tremendous series of pay-per-view matches at Over The Limit and Money In The Bank. Both were not-so-gentle reminders to WWE of what was possible when they just let great wrestlers wrestle. Imagine that.

One more time wouldn't hurt.

Bryan's recent preachy eco-warrior gimmick had flashes of Punk's old 'Straight Edge Saviour' about it, and that's one avenue WWE could go down if their feud kickstarted again. A battle of "Who did it better?" would be a storyline that'd give the announcers something to chew on as Punk and Bryan excitedly went about the task of bettering old classics.

It's a random insert, but Chris Jericho vs. Cody at AEW's Full Gear proved there's room for slower-paced matches that tell a story rather than an assembly line of bumps. Punk vs. Bryan's rematch would be exactly that. There's no shame in slowing things down if the psychology is solid enough.
