6. Shawn Michaels Vs. Bret Hart - WrestleMania XII

THE rivalry of the 1990s. The most personal feud in wrestling history. The most real rivalry we will more than likely ever see... Both men were fan favourites but this was the first time that 'behind the curtain' story line was used in the main steam of WWE's main event card. Bret proclaimed that fans should side with him due to his integrity while ditching Michaels, who he saw belittling the sport of professional wrestling by dancing his way to the ring amongst other things. These were obviously his sentiments in real life too. The was also the first time a 60 minute Ironman Match had been utilised in the main stream, on the biggest stage of them all for that matter, so fans were interested to see how that could be worked by two of the leading performers in the world at that time.
