10 Most Anticipated (Unlikely But Not Impossible) Wrestling Matches Of 2018

5. Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho II

For an example of excellent storytelling, backed up by a strong in-ring performance, look no further than Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega at New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom 12. There was blood, there was heat and there was chemistry. No self-respecting wrestling fan should be willing to forgo the chance to see a sequel.

In the short-term, both Omega and Y2J are going in different directions. Jericho has targeted Tetsuya Naito as his next rival, and Kenny will concentrate on pushing NJPW's presence in the United States. Surely there's time for a rematch somewhere down the road, though, possibly even as soon as the Summer months.

Once Omega is done with Jay White (and maybe loses the IWGP United States Title to the Kiwi), there will be demand for a repeat of the Jericho classic. There's a chance we'll see Omega in WWE someday, but he looks set to stick with New Japan in 2018, so that's the most likely location.

Dominion 2018, anyone?
