10 Most Awesome Wrestling Submissions (And Who Did Them Best)

5. The Kimura Lock (Brock Lesnar)

According to WWE logic, John Cena's bones are superior to those of Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

Upon returning in 2012, Brock Lesnar went on a limb-mangling spree, applying the famed Kimura Lock on some of the biggest stars WWE had to offer. Inspired by his days in the UFC (not that Lesnar ever displayed much skill on the Brazilian jiu-jitsu front), 'The Beast' would get a figure-four angle on an opponent's arm before grapevining their torso to prevent an escape.

Owing to his hulking build, legit athlete credibility and general aggression, the perpetually red-faced Lesnar wrenching on arms was believably fatal. After inexplicably losing his comeback match to Cena at Extreme Rules 2012, the former NCAA standout regained some heat by breaking Triple H's arm the next night on RAW.

The hold's severity was cranked up to 11 when Lesnar crippled Shawn Michaels with it in the build to his SummerSlam 2012 clash with 'The Game'. The cherry on top of presenting this hold as a devastator came when Lesnar submitted 'The Cerebral Assassin' and rebroke his bad arm at the August event.

The obsession with the 'Suplex City' meme has neutered much of Lesnar's submission-based offence in the years since. Regardless, on the occasions he has wheeled out his favourite torture hold, it has received a big pop. It's credibility was well-established almost immediately. An excellent piece of booking complemented by one of the industry's most intimidating performers.
