7. West Hollywood Blondes
In the early-90's, Steve Austin and Brian Pillman were randomly shoved together as a tag-team. Despite wanting to succeed as singles stars, both guys realised they had to make the best of the situation, and quickly evolved into one of the most entertaining duos in WCW. Looking to recreate that same magic, WCW higher-ups placed both Lenny Lane and Lodi in a team - known as The West Hollywood Blondes - in 1999. Initially, this didn't seem like too bad an idea - creative had little for either man, and they had a similar look and in-ring style. That's where the fun stopped, because these new Blondes were portrayed as outwardly camp, in the most awkward way possible. A corporate company, WCW's writing team decided to confuse their own organisation by having Lenny and Lodi suck on lollipops during their entrance, suggestively, and wear pretty ill-fitting clothing. What WCW were hoping to achieve with this is really not clear, because it was basically like saying, 'these men are gay, and not afraid to show it, hate them!'. Fans didn't really hate Lenny and Lodi as much as show extreme apathy towards them, even more so when they revealed themselves to be brothers. And people thought Billy & Chuck were bad!
