10 Most Believable Underdogs In Wrestling Today
3. Liv Morgan
Fans and wrestlers alike have bemoaned the imaginary brass ring of Vince McMahon. The idea that hard work and perseverance will eventually get wrestlers to the upper echelon has been proven empirically false time and time again. However, the crowd appreciates someone who visibly gives it their all, and perhaps nowhere is that better exemplified in Liv Morgan.
The New Jersey native has recently put her days in the Riott Squad behind her to become the Living Embodiment of Karma - whatever that means. Setting aside WWE's infamously bad nickname generator, Liv has shown that she is willing to bet on herself, take chances, and has grown before the audience's very eyes.
In the Riott Squad, Morgan was totally unafraid, exemplified at TLC when she took a horrific spill through a table at ringside. Now that she has distinguished herself from the pack, she's improved her grappling game between the ropes by leaps and bounds, punctuated by the Oblivion, a quick, impactful new finisher.
People have rooted for Morgan for years but she has never been taken seriously as a top-quality prospect within the company. However, with her new look, new attitude, and new ringwork, more people are starting to get on board and want to see her succeed. Given what seems to be an endless amount of determination, she may very well do just that.
