10 Most Boring Wrestlers Of 2016
1. Shane McMahon
On February 22, Shane McMahon returned to Raw in what was one of the most memorable WWE segments of the year, challenging his father for control of the company. In one fell swoop, Shane was established as the voice of fans who were tired of Vince and The Authority, and a match between "The Boy Wonder" and The Undertaker was set for WrestleMania 32.
Unfortunately, every subsequent appearance by Shane seemed to get worse and worse. He looked lost in the ring during promos, garbling his lines. His offense looked terrible when he'd get into brawls (including when he laughably dispatched four security guards from the ring). He had little chemistry with his own family members.
When The Undertaker match came, it was lackluster. Shane was a 46-year-old untrained wrestler, and he was booked to go toe-to-toe with WWE's most revered superstar. The bout was a snooze-fest, and many called the show the worst WrestleMania ever.
That wasn't the end of Shane's story, though - he stayed on TV, feuding with Stephanie McMahon for control of Raw and then eventually taking a commissioner role on Smackdown. All the while, he remained a terrible actor and an uninteresting TV character. He also competed in the ring at the Survivor Series, manhandling top superstars like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns while hurting Chris Jericho with his unpolished offense.
Shane is the most unconvincing character on WWE TV, and the worst worker to have a match in the company this year. Whether he's wrestling or talking, though, one thing is consistent - the show gets boring fast.
