10 Most Brutal WWE Hell In A Cell Moments Ever

8. Shawn Michaels Tries To Break Shane McMahon's Neck

When looking back upon the most violent Hell in a Cell matches in history, DX's 2-on-3 handicap encounter with Vince, Shane and Big Show doesn't exactly leap out. It's most remembered for the sight of Vince McMahon's head being shoved up Shows' gigantic derriere, more than any particular act of sadism or carnage. However, despite containing comedic elements, the match also saw several shockingly violent spots - many concerning Shane McMahon. Never a man with personal safety at the forefront of his mind, Shane O'Mac flew with a thrilling coast-to-coast dropkick on Triple H - cutting the Game's ear open in the process. The most potentially life-threatening spot came later in the match. Having turned the tide, Triple H and Michaels singled out Shane for punishment, laying him out with a spinebuster and slipping a steel chair around his neck. HBK then took to the top rope and flew with a heart-stopping elbow drop, crashing down onto both McMahon and the chair, appearing to crush his opponent's. Thankfully, the spot was executed safely and Shane escaped injury, but he sold the move in terrifying fashion. Feigning paralysis as blood spilled from inside his mouth, he spent the remainder of the match completely still, his eyes darting furiously around is if to say "what the hell just happened!?".
