10 Most Confusing WWE Castoffs That TNA Signed

10. Brandi Rhodes

Let’s start with the most recent name on this list, and then ponder together why she was signed by TNA.

Perhaps the best way to start things off is with a question “What’s your favorite Brandi Rhodes (Eden Stiles) match from WWE?” If you have one...you’re a liar!

In her entire time in the company, Brandi wrestled in exactly one match...and it was in developmental...in a battle royal...in 2011. Yet TNA brought her in to play the part of a professional wrestler on a worldwide television show. Not do ring announcing, but actually wrestle.

My guess is that they signed her to try and get Cody on-board, but couldn’t that have been done without her? Just plan on featuring him in a prominent role, just like he wanted in WWE. Besides, the company is incredibly cash strapped as it is, and we don’t even know who will be owning the thing within a few weeks, so bringing in new people at all is kind of strange.

To be somewhat fair, Brandi left WWE on her own accord, but it's not like they went to any great lengths to retain her, and there were never plans to actually put her in the ring. So really, it's a bit hard to understand what TNA saw.

Maybe she'll shock us all and be just as good as Charlotte or Sasha Banks, but if she’s mediocre or worse, then she’ll just continue to widen the gap between the Knockouts Division and the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Divisions.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
