10 Most Crowd-Pleasing Victories In WWE History

7. The Hitman's Night - WrestleMania 10

Bret Hart's journey to the top of WWE hit two speed bumps in 1993, first with the return and subsequent ego stroke of Hulk Hogan, then Vince McMahon's decision to run with Lex Luger as his new, great American hope.

Neither of those decisions panned out quite as well as the Chairman of the Board would have liked. With fans clearly and emotionally invested in The Hitman, WrestleMania X became the Hart show.

First, he lost to brother Owen in a shocking upset in the night's opening contest. But it was but another of those pesky roadblocks that had popped up countless times throughout his career.

He overcame it, despite an injured knee that would hobble him some two hours later.

In the night's main event, he made the most of his championship opportunity, earned by way of his Royal Rumble victory, as he defeated Yokozuna to regain the top prize in the sport.

The argument can be made that he never should have lost it in the first place. An even stronger argument can be made that WrestleMania X, despite having held the title before, was Hart's true inauguration as the guy in WWE.

The fans in New York's famed Madison Square Garden greeted his victory with great excitement and tremendous ovations, their hero firmly entrenched at the top of the card.
