10 Most Dangerous Wrestling Spots Of 2020
5. Jeff Hardy Swantons A Step Too Far - Monday Night Raw (December 1)
If there's one thing Jeff Hardy likes more than thrusting his hips and painting his face, it's regularly performing career-shortening Swanton Bombs.
Not content with completely destroying his back every time he pulls off the move on a vulnerable star in the middle of the ring, Hardy has consistently taken things up a couple of notches over the years by adding ladders, tables or even Titantrons into the mix.
Yet, his insistence on performing the move off a ladder onto Sami Zayn (also on a ladder) at this year's Clash of Champions somehow isn't the most extreme or dangerous Swanton we've seen in 2020. That honour belongs to the version of the finisher he let loose in the second Symphony of Destruction match of the year on Monday Night Raw in December.
With Elias lying on a table outside of the ring, covered in ukuleles and violins, Hardy executed a vicious looking Swanton from the top of the ring post to win the contest. However, the former WWE Champion's nasty landing quickly over-shadowed the contest itself. Just after he connected with Elias and the table below, the back of the extreme veteran's head slammed into the edge of the ring steps.
Luckily, Hardy quickly shook off this unplanned landing, playing a tambourine as he celebrated the victory. But, perhaps WWE should think about keeping Jeff away from gimmick matches over the next few months...he deserves a rest.
