10 Most Dangerous WWE SmackDown Spots In History
4. Brock Lesnar And Big Show Break The Ring
Big Show finally let the cat out of the bag a couple of years ago during an appearance on Chris Jericho's podcast: it turns out the June 2003 SmackDown spot that saw the ring collapse was totally, 100% planned after all.
The ring, so says the World's Largest Athlete, was rigged to implode after Brock Lesnar nailed him with a mammoth top-turnbuckle suplex, with a crash pad said to be placed underneath the canvas so as to prevent any hard landings.
That said, this was still pretty dangerous. In fact, it's pretty dangerous any time a man of Big Show's frame is hoisted above his opponent's head, evidence for which can be found in Kevin Nash's attempted powerbomb back in WCW (and that was lean Big Show).
Throw in the fact that Lesnar was tasked with lifting him whilst standing on the turnbuckle, and the risk is amplified enormously. This had the potential to go badly wrong, and it's only due to the incredible strength of the Beast Incarnate that Show landed safely on his back.
