10 Most Death-Defying Jeff Hardy Stunts
7. Whisper In The Wind Off Top Of Cage - Raw 2008
It was the inaugural Raw of 2008, and Jeff Hardy was facing Umaga in the first main event of the year. Randy Orton had set up camp outside of the cage to ensure Jeff couldn't escape. Standing atop the edifice with seemingly nowhere to go, Hardy opted to go back the way he came...but with a little extra flair.
The Whisper in the Wind is one of Hardy's most crowd-pleasing signature moves. It's essentially a corkscrew senton delivered by propelling himself toward his opponent while facing away from them, which isn't exactly an ideal position for hitting your mark.
But when Hardy is on his game - and sober - he can make the move look extremely crisp and precise, connecting with just enough of his body to make it look impactful while still protecting his opponent. Of course, it's also up to the recipient of the move to adjust if Hardy looks a bit out-of-place in the air.
Here, though, there was no need for Umaga to move an inch. Once Jeff starts that backflip, he's completely locked in. As he twists and turns through the air, he stretches every limb to make the announcer's bird analogies stick even more.
