10 Most Death-Defying Jeff Hardy Stunts
2. THAT Swanton Off A Ladder - WrestleMania 2000
Jeff Hardy has performed eighteen million Swanton Bombs over the course of his career. It's one of those classic moves that never seems to get old, and though some people probably think it's crazy to place his finishing move in the same league as The Rock Bottom or Sweet Chin Music, Hardy's done everything imaginable to make that a legit comparison.
It's also a maneuver that's evolved more than casual fans realise. Back when Jeff first busted it out, it was all flash and no bang. He just sort of glided over his opponent like he was trying to demonstrate his most extravagant somersault and their body just happened to get in the way.
But then he started performing it off obnoxiously tall ladders, and had to adjust the way he delivered it in order to accommodate the bonkers hang time he was achieving. Then he started pummeling his opponents with it.
And there are plenty of devastating Swantons that could go on this list. His jump from the balcony at Royal Rumble 2000 was awesome, and his leap onto CM Punk at SummerSlam 2009 proved that Hardy hadn't lost a step.
But this one just feels extra jaw-dropping. Maybe it's the camera angle, or their location on the ramp, or the fact that we hadn't seen him do anything quite like it before.
Or maybe it's that both guys look like they got absolutely wrecked. Yeah, 'look like'...
