10 Most Disappointing Wrestling Ladder Matches Of All Time

1. Jake Roberts Vs. Big Daddy Ritter, Stampede 1979

Just because something is original, that doesn't mean it's also good. Proof: Jake Roberts and Big Daddy Ritter (aka The Junkyard Dog) compete in one of the first televised ladder matches in the Calgary Stampede program. Although crowds at the time were surely mesmerized by the very idea of a ladder being utilized in a wrestling match, that was literally the only thing this match had going for it. The ladder was the MVP here, hands down. The bulk of this match could generously be described as "two wrestlers punch each other near a ladder." It was like someone took detailed notes of the last bar fight they saw and then incorporated the worst elements of it into this match. But also...one of the guys has to climb a tall ladder to retrieve the belt.
