10 Most Drastic Differences Between Wrestlers In And Out Of WWE
4. The Bushwhackers
Outside of WWE:
Every wrestling fan of a certain age and level of interest has a bizarre coming of age moment that warps their perception of WWE: it's when they find out that the Bushwhackers, as the Sheepherders, were awarded a ***** match rating in the Wrestling Observer. This insane trivia is akin to doing something from the 1999 film the Matrix which, while a helpful analogy, has been co-opted by complete goofs and will only be alluded to here. There is a world beyond, and Luke and Butch f*ckin' Bushwhacker are the inexplicable gatekeepers of it. That match is awesome; they chew the flesh from the heads of Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers who, pissing blood, use the roaring crowd as their eyes to build a tremendous comeback against the two vicious, totally convincing scumbags.
In WWE:
In a gimmick that probably isn't, in retrospect, "on," Vince McMahon approached the antipodean duo in much the same way as the Simpsons approached the country of Australia. He was simply very amused by their mere presence and being, and they became a comedy act that holds up not at all well.
Sheepherders? That's a funny name. I'd have called them Bushwhackers!
