7. Rey Mysterio Dedicates Royal Rumble Win To Eddie Guerrero (2006)
In November, 2005, Eddie Guerrero sadly passed away in his hotel room. His death came as a real shock to everybody around him, leading fans and WWE to come together in tribute to his life and career. Few felt the blow any harder than Rey Mysterio, who considered Eddie one of his best friends outside of the wrestling business. It proved a shrewd move to make Mysterio the winner of the 2006 Royal Rumble. Entering at number 2, the masked man rode to the ring in one of Eddie's trademark low-rider vehicles. Emerging from the car, he was clad in a Guerrero t-shirt, and performed his friend's famous dance for the fans. Waiting in the ring, Triple H was visibly emotional about the moment himself. Lasting over 60 minutes in the match, Rey Mysterio was given the win, lastly eliminating Randy Orton. He then dedicated it to the memory of Eddie Guerrero, causing tears to fall all over the American Airlines Arena. Guerrero's passing had saddened the entire wrestling community, and it was a classy touch of Mysterio's to dedicate one of his finest performances to one of his best friends.
