WWE: 10 Most Famous Loser Leaves Town Retirement Matches

10. Jerry Lawler vs. Bill Dundee

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcx2y4M7Orw The relationship between Memphis legend Jerry The King Lawler and his Australian counterpart Bill Dundee is quite the storied one. Spending as much time battling each other as enemies as they have fighting side by side as allies, the two talented performers are two of the biggest names in Memphis wrestling history. One of the most fondly remembered territories with a penchant for wild, off the wall action and a reputation for horrible payouts, the promotion almost always featured at least one of these two in a prominent role during its heyday in the 80s. Dundee was a small man with a big heart who loved a good fight and Lawler was nearly as big of a star as Elvis Presley himself in their Tennessee hometown. The men had great chemistry together and whenever a program started to become stale, they would flip roles and run the entire thing over again. The duo would square off three times in loser leaves town matches, but the bout that took place in June of 1993 was their most famous. Lawler was the babyface and the fans in the Mid-South Coliseum were rabid to see him send the foreigner on his way. On this occasion, the King's strap came down and the Australian had to exit Memphis. It's a classic example of old school southern wrestling at its best.
