Heading in to the main event of the 2016 Survivor Series, fans had varying expectations. Some were hoping for anything better than WrestleMania XX. Others were simply praying that Goldberg wouldn't spend the night in a hospital.

The result was a foregone conclusion. Brock Lesnar would fight Goldberg, Bill would put up a valiant fight, but The Beast Incarnate would be too much. Lesnar would move on to whatever comes next, and Goldberg could sleep knowing his family had seen him perform.

What happened instead was ninety seconds of madness, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it squash that saw Goldberg hit Lesnar with two Spears and a Jackhammer and walk away the victor. The brilliance of the obliteration has only grown over time; Lesnar was quite clearly over-confident against the supposedly under-cooked Goldberg.

Goldberg was also the first man to wrestle Lesnar in a long time who seemed to have a plan. Show Lesnar as little respect as he shows you, hit hard and hit fast. Look at Goldberg between the two Spears; the man was focused, and his focus was on destroying Lesnar.

And destroy him he did, a most beautiful destruction.
