At the very first WrestleMania in 1985, King Kong Bundy made light work of Special Delivery Jones in a match that set the standard for all squashes to come. This match established Bundy as an absolute monster, as he dispatched the veteran midcard babyface in nine seconds.

Well, it wasn't nine seconds, it was actually just over 20. Either way it was a demolition job, as Bundy hit Jones with an avalanche and a big splash and was back in the showers before the fat lady had a chance to step up to the microphone.

It was the first squash match in WrestleMania history, and one that set Bundy on his path of destruction that came to a close one year later against Hulk Hogan. In less than a minute Bundy became a force to be reckoned with in the then-WWF, a walking condominium that wasn't getting paid by the hour.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
