Remember when The Shield and The Wyatt Family put on one of the best WWE matches of the past decade at Elimination Chamber 2014? That match was an absolute classic, a WrestleMania bout in all but name. The Shield's opponents at WrestleMania that year? Kane and the New Age Outlaws.

One year removed from defeating Randy Orton, Big Show, and Sheamus in their WrestleMania debut, the dominant trio was left to face three admittedly legendary men who were a solid decade past their prime at this point. The idea of Jesse James holding Seth Rollins in a two-minute chinlock excited approximately nobody.

Which is why it was a great relief when The Shield knocked off the Attitude Era trio in less than three minutes. It was a quick in and out for Ambrose, Reigns, and Rollins, the Outlaws getting powerbombed back into their backstage roles for good.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
