10 Most Flamboyant Wrestling Characters That Made Fans Cringe

There was nothing good about Johnny B. Badd...

The definition of the word 'flamboyant' is when someone 'tends to attract attention due to their exuberance, confidence or stylishness'. In the world of professional wrestling, flamboyance is encouraged. Showmanship is something many pro wrestlers aspire to show, because it helps them get noticed. That's understandable, but there have been occasions when wrestling personalities have made fans cringe. The grappling industry is a unique one, because it incorporates elements from so many different forms of entertainment. Being 'flamboyant' isn't always a bad thing, there are wrestlers that can be accurately described as such outside a negative context. On the surface, it'd be easy to simply list 10 sexual characters from wrestling history and move on. That's not necessarily all this list has to offer. Something doesn't need to be sexual for it to be flamboyant or cringeworthy. A fair few of the subjects at hand did have sexual connotations, but this list also takes into consideration those who were simply over the top. Instead of solely focusing on the fact many of these characters used sexual references to get themselves noticed, exactly what made them so cringeworthy will be explained. If one thing is for sure, a lot of these gimmicks were ones wrestling fans found difficult to explain to those outside the wrestling bubble!
