10. 'Ravishing' Rick Rude
'Ravishing' Rick Rude was the kind of character that was easy to dislike. An obviously handsome man, Rude also had a body that was the envy of everyone watching. During most of his pre-match promos, Rick would assess that the 'guys wanted to be him, and the girls wanted to be with him'. Meanwhile, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan would smile from ear-to-ear, fawning over his client. Wearing a garish robe to the ring, Rick Rude would promise to take it off and flaunt his body before the match. This was designed to use his clearly impressive physique as a tool for heat from fans. Males in the audience would see females going wild over Rude, which made them wish to see him get beaten up. It was a simple, yet highly effective, strategy. That's not say that the segments weren't cringeworthy at times. When Rude would disrobe, he'd do so to music that sounded very close to what people might expect Chippendale models to dance to. This was of course deliberate, but it was also pretty outlandish to see Rude gyrate his hips in the ring.
