10 Most Frightening Slams In UFC History

8. Frank Shamrock Vs. Igor Zinoviev (UFC 16)

To another UFC icon now. Former #1 ranked pound-for-pound MMA star Frank Shamrock was a fighter who could seemingly do it all.

A high degree of skill in Kickboxing and Jeet Kune Do was clear in his style. Yet, it was his legendary Pancrase shoot wrestling which helped separate him from the pack.

This epic ability to completely bully an opponent by contorting their limbs or lifting and slamming them on the mat was never more prevalent than in his quick smashing of Igor Zinoviev at UFC 16.

Evading Zinoviev's attempts to land some offence early on, Shamrock saw an opening and latched onto his rival.

Driving upwards, Zinoviev had no choice but to accept his fate. He was coming back down to earth and he was coming down hard.

As expected, Shamrock brought him down with a monumental thud and knocked the Russian clean out for the count.

It took Shamrock just 22 seconds to successfully defend his UFC Light Heavyweight title on the night and only instilled more fear into the rest of the division.

This guy could tap you out, take your head off or he could simply slam you so hard that your body had no choice but to call it a day.
