Man, on paper this sounded so cool. Mickey Rourke, aka Randy The Ram from Darron Aronofsky's pseudo-biopic The Wrestler, stepping into an actual WWE ring to face off against actual WWE superstar, Chris Jericho.

Those of us who marked out at the announcement assumed Rourke's rigorous training for his movie role would allow him to navigate himself through a legitimate match. But as the impending match got closer, Rourke got cold feet, and the bout was abandoned.

But hey, Jericho's still calling him out and provoking him into the ring for a confrontation. This could...still be cool?

Nope. By the time Rourke leisurely strolled his way into the ring two full minutes after Jericho issued the challenge, most of the air was already sucked out of the arena. After another couple minutes of bobbing and dancing around the ring, Rourke finally connected with a "knockout punch" that wouldn't have even laid out Shawn Michaels' wife.

It wouldn't have been so bad if the hype hadn't created so much genuine excitement over their confrontation. This steak was simply overcooked.
