At SummerSlam 1996, The Undertaker faced Mankind in the first ever Boiler Room Brawl. The only way to win was to beat your opponent into oblivion, allowing you to move from the bowels of the building to the ring, where you would retrieve the magical urn from Paul Bearer.

After The Undertaker sent Mankind crashing from the ring apron to the concrete floor, he went between the ropes and knelt before his manager. However, Bearer turned away.

Mankind then attacked The Undertaker, locking the Mandible Claw in as Bearer slapped and stomped his former monster. It was a shocking betrayal as the morbid duo were inseparable for six years, which was too long according to Bearer, who felt that Undertaker hadn’t carried his own weight in their alliance.
