10 Most Heartbreaking WWE Moments Ever
4. Tegan's Trauma
Desperate.
Tegan Nox was desperate not to have the match reach an unnatural conclusion as result of an injury she knew she'd sustained the second she landed badly from a dive within the first seconds of her Mae Young Classic 2018 match with Rhea Ripley.
"I'm good" was the desperate lie she repeatedly told referee Aubrey Edwards as she persistently checked her out, desperate to stop the match and save Nox from any further suffering. Edwards knew - most likely as she was helping her hobble up the steps back into battle - the Welsh star was down and out, but had no choice but to listen to the determined starlet before the injury finally betrayed her fighting spirit.
Her cries of pain were desperate, tragically soundtracking the announcement of Ripley's unnerving victory in place of any kind of response from a despondent Full Sail University crowd.
The story is now one of desperate misfortune. Nox injured her other leg last year, with her tournment story this year anchored by her long road to recovery. One hopes she can rebound again - WWE are hopefully desperate to make the most of her incredibly challenging journey.
