Despite no longer being WWE Champion, and despite swinging around that absurd sword, the Scottish Warrior, formerly of psychopath nature, remains one of WWE's most important top level performers.

He may no longer be on top of the card, but that does not mean his star has been allowed to diminish. When Drew lost the WWE Championship, it was only thanks to Bobby Lashley blindsiding him followed by a Miz cash-in. Then, at WrestleMania 37, it required MVP interference for Lashley to survive McIntyre’s onslaught.

The same sequence was repeated at Hell in a Cell to give Lashley another cheap win and move Drew away from the title picture. Since then, he’s been beating up the likes of Jinder Mahal and reigniting his feud with Sheamus. And while his win-loss record may not exactly be spotless, WWE have gone out of their way to ensure losses are done so in a way that keeps the Scot strong.
