10 Most Heavily Protected Wrestling Finishers Ever

4. Jackhammer (Goldberg)

Goldberg's initial WCW run succeeded because it stuck to professional wrestling's most important golden rule: highlight the strengths, hide the weaknesses.

Although Bill was greener than an envious Grinch in his first few years as a wrestler, it didn't matter. WCW rarely stretched him beyond his capabilities. Short, snappy squash matches presented the former NFL player as a bulldozer. Rather than trading holds and working 15-minute runtimes, he ran through opponents like a force of nature, with his Jackhammer insurmountable.

Hulk Hogan was the first person to ever kick out of it. This happened on the 5 April 1999 episode of WCW Nitro, but wouldn't have had Kevin Nash not missed a cue to break an attempted pinfall after Goldberg had hit the move on Hogan. A four-way bout for the WCW World Championship (also featuring Ric Flair and DDP) was supposed to end on a no-contest following the Nash spot. Unfortunately, Big Kev wasn't there, and Hogan kicked out to preserve the outcome.

The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar have since kicked out of the move in Goldberg's latter years, though this is an easy sell, given Goldberg is now over 50 years old.
