10 Most Horrific Wrestling Injuries

4. New Jack

On March 12th 2000, the notoriously violent New Jack fell victim to life threatening brain damage and permanent loss of sight in his right eye during a match with Vic Grimes. When the pair stepped off a scaffold twenty-five feet in the air, they completely missed the mark, dodging the tables intended to break their fall and instead hitting the hard concrete.

Grimes landed on New Jack’s head and chest, causing the head injuries in the process. New Jack was quickly rushed to hospital where he was diagnosed with a severe concussion.

Still suffering the effects of his injury to this day, New Jack would wrestle Vic Grimes one last time in a rematch for Xtreme Pro Wrestling. New Jack threw Grimes a scaffold thirty feet above the ring.

The fall didn’t go as planned (surprised?) with Grimes only landing on two of the twelve tables meant to break his fall. New Jack has often claimed he tried to kill Grimes that night but footage from the match reveals Grimes making the first move off the scaffold. Hopefully New Jack was just working us on that one.
