10 Most Iconic WWE WrestleMania Images

4. Michaels' Graceful Descent (WrestleMania 10)

While the sight of Shawn Michaels strapped to a harness, descending down a zip-line over top an excited Anaheim crowd at WrestleMania 12 was pretty nifty, it lacks the understated smoothness of this rather risky spot. Before Jeff Hardy and others ran ladder leaps into the ground, Michaels was steering wrestling into those uncharted waters.

In virtually every Michaels highlight video that spans his illustrious career, a viewer gets the image of Michaels gliding like a bird from an eight-foot ladder, floating downward onto a prone Razor Ramon, in one of many creative moments from the first ladder match ever broadcast on pay-per-view.

The moment was just another example of intuitive and ballsy Michaels rising to the occasion, stealing the show with his effortless confidence and poise. There have been a million dangerous spots since then, but to demonstrate decorum against the danger is a lost, or just rare, art. Leave it to the "Heartbreak Kid" to set the bar and then watch it go untouched.
