5. The Mere Sight Of The Pontiac Crowd (WrestleMania 3)

The simple fact that most WrestleManias this millennium have taken place in domes and stadiums only partially lessens the mere sight of the crowd at the once-intrepid Pontiac Silverdome. Without an elaborate entrance stage the size of Rhode Island taking up space, you're left with a sea of humanity that still awes the eye.

When Mean Gene Okerlund builds up the crowd and announces the possibly-inflated head count of 93,173 screaming fans, it still sends a chill. Even if the number is an artificial one (some sources claim that 78,000 is more authentic), it's still an incredible sight, and Okerlund's proclamation lends an auspicious air to a grand event.

From the hard camera's perspective, you can see more than 30 rows of people in the backdrop of each match, a very cool and intimidating sight. The crow's-nest view of the crowd is actually much more impressive than most ensuing stadium cards, due to the lack of frills and set-pieces in the venue.
