10 Most Important Milestones In WWE NXT History

3. NXT TakeOver

May 29, 2014 was the next step in NXT's ascension. This was the first of the TakeOver events and NXT's second live showing on the WWE Network. NXT Champion Adrian Neville looked to turn back a hungry and refocused Tyson Kidd in what turned out to be a pure wrestling clinic. Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze competed in a number one contenders match while Rusev went up against the energetic Mojo Rawley. The Ascension faced off against to El Local & Kalisto while something almost completely abnormal happened at the event. At the risk of sounding a tad sexist, the women stole the show in what is still considered a shock in the world of WWE. Wrongly, we've almost become accustomed to women appearing in matches that last no more than five minutes. Crowds in arenas all over the world become distracted and do the match in the ring no favours. However, it was refreshing to see Charlotte and Natalya put on a clinic of their own with their WWE Hall of Fame relatives at ring side. Messrs Flair and Hart (Bret, not Jim) added something to the match but nothing can be taken away from the action in the ring. Yet again, another must watch on the WWE Network.
