10 Most Improved Wrestlers Of 2022

6. The Gunns

The ‘Ass Boys’ have gone from a very raw but talented young duo to an established tag team act with real upside in the last year, which is a credit to Austin and Colten who have refused to stay in the shadow of their father. The Gunns are circulating the AEW World Tag Team Championship picture, a title that they could quite possibly win in 2023.

Their feud with the current tag champions The Acclaimed this year was great because it highlighted two of the company's homegrown teams against each other. The added wrinkle of the two pairings vying for the affections of 'Daddy Ass' Billy Gunn was surprisingly effective too, as it allowed his biological sons to go out on their own whilst he got over by scissoring with his newly found ones.

The two young Gunns have come a long way since first appearing in AEW throughout the pandemic and have managed to refine their act to become great heels for a live audience. Their in-ring work has continued to impress too, having been on a good run after leaving their father behind.
