10 Most Improved Wrestlers Of 2023

2. Dominik Mysterio

The transformation and progression of Dominik Mysterio is remarkable to have witnessed in the time since he turned heel and joined the Judgment Day in September of last year.

From a bland, vanilla babyface still learning on the job, to a snivelling, scumbag heel who has gained more and more composure with every passing week, Dirty Dom is one of the most despised figures in wrestling right now - and him always having his all-powerful Mami to hide behind has made for some fantastic television.

As a character, Mysterio has well and truly stepped out of his father's shadow, instead opting to travel a path so often walked by his late, great Uncle Eddie. Between the ropes, Dominik has likewise continued to show great improvement, going from a green-as-grass headless chicken to an in-ring worker who can be relied upon to deliver something solid. Sure, Dom isn't a top-tier worker yet, but this list is all about improvements made across this calendar year, and the change in Prison Dom across 2023 has been huge.

It's easy to forget that Dominik Mysterio was chucked into the squared circle just three years ago, during a time when WWE was throwing so much against the wall and seeing what would stick as part of the empty arena pandemic days. For where Mysterio is these days, he deserves immense credit, and that he's getting to work week-to-week with a who's who of WWE's top stars is the best learning tree possible for the 26-year-old.
