If a professional wrestling moment's success is to be measured by the crowd's emotional response, nothing in recent WWE history can touch Roman Reigns' 25 February announcement.

Four months after breaking the tragic news that the leukaemia that almost cost him his life 11 years prior had come back, WWE's 'Big Dog' had something positive to share: "I'm in remission, y'all."

Thank god for that.

While several different news sources had predicted this would be Roman's announcement the instant his Raw appearance was announced, nothing was ever going to take anything away from this moment. A divided world brought together by Reigns' condition returning in October 2018 breathed the biggest sigh of relief imaginable. A weight was lifted, tears were shed, and for the first time in a long time, professional wrestling celebrated for and with Joe Anoa'i.

Given the diagnosis, that Reigns survived, returned to a full-time wrestling gig, and continues to perform at a high level is borderline miraculous, and it's a shame that WWE haven't been able to make the most of him since 25 February. Regardless, no creative team will ever generate emotions as pure as these.
