10 Most Ineffectual WWE Authority Figures

5. Jonathan Coachman

Johnathan Coachman aka €œThe Coach€ began his WWE career as a backstage announcer and is fondly remembered for his segments with The Rock who would belittle and emasculate him to the crowd's endless amusement. He turned heel in 2003, allying himself with the Raw General Manager, Eric Bischoff. Coach would join the Raw commentary table for a time as the heel representitive, but quit after being humped in the ring by Viscera. He was rehired as Vince McMahon€™s Executive Assistant shortly after, existing primarly as someone for D-Generation X to embarass and humilate on a weekly basis Much of Coach€™s post-announcing career would be as a lackey to whoever was really in charge, but he would talk to superstars as if he was the boss, similar to Dwight Schrute from The US Office. On occasions Coach would be named the Interim General Manager of Raw but he would always be replaced by someone more qualified for the role. After nearly ten years with WWE, Coach left in 2008 to take a job for ESPN as an anchor on SportsCenter. Every now and then someone like John Cena or The Rock would stop by, and for a brief period the Coach that fans loved to hate would make an appearance to once again be belittled for their entertainment.
