10 Most Infamous Wrestling Losing Streaks

6. John Cena

Much like Santa Claus, John Cena is both a hero to children everywhere, and a sobering reminder to adults of the cold, artificially-constructed world they occupy.

Happily, like Saint Nick, Cena - prior to his very welcome 2016, at least - emerged once a year to give adult wrestling fans a very welcome present - his defeated, crestfallen little face. Strictly speaking, Cena didn't just lose at SummerSlam - but the majority of his defeats, since his mid-2000s arrival as the undisputed top star in WWE, have been laughably contrived.

To underscore that point, look no further than Extreme Rules 2014. Super-agile, supernaturally-powered Bray Wyatt couldn't defeat him with two gigantic henchmen at his side - but the piercing glare of a...small child could. Christ almighty. Cena hasn't tasted victory at the Biggest Party of the Summer since 2010 - and of those six victories, three of them were as clean as CM Punk's p*ss. Two of those were dealt at the hands of two veritable Indy darlings.

2016 has been one of the worst in existence elsewhere - but, thanks to Cena, of all people, wrestling has for once not added to the doom and gloom.
